Ambience Mall, Gurugram is a premier mall in Gurgaon, which is the millennium city in Haryana. It contains an area of 19, 97,378 square feet. It's a mall where every class of people are allowed, for relaxation, shopping and entertainment. Ambience Mall, Gurgaon has more than 230 stores and food outlets. It also has a very large parking space which can park about 4000 vehicles. The mall was opened for public in 2007 and became a great attraction for people from all walks of life. It has many national and international brands like Gap, H&M, Jamie's Pizzeria, Mc Donald’s, Nautica, Charles & Keith, Zara and etc.
In order to provide our International Business Management students of Oct'16 batch a greater understanding about Organised Retail, Mall Management and Zoning of stores in a mall, INLEAD recently facilitated an Industry Visit for them to Ambience Mall, NH8, Gurgaon.
Since some of the students had never been to a mall before, doing a comprehensive tour of a mall, which houses such huge number of international brands was quite an eye-opener for them. The knowledge about zoning and roster duties was new for them.
The tour commenced with Mr. Kanwardip Singh, AGM Operations, Ambience Mall explaining about zoning, what zoning means and how it's done. Students were also allowed into a restaurant, to understand it’s operations. They went to the extremely popular Dine Restaurant, Chilis where they were even allowed to ask questions from the restaurant manager.
Post the two hour guided tour, students then congregated at one of the Mall management office's conference room for an interaction with the GM, Mall Operations. He handled all queries students had regarding every aspect of the mall from store location, to security management to parking requirements. Overall, students came out well versed with the detailing that goes in mall operations and store locations.
La Liga the eponymous Spanish Football League, has set its base in India in New Delhi. They hosted their first Live Screening of Real Madrid vs Barcelona clubs in JLN Stadium. The event was marked by presence of huge screens, fan engagements, food and beverage stalls on the evening of 3rd December, 2016. The event was managed by DNA Networks, and our students were invited to be volunteers at their various stalls.
At the venue there was a huge set- up of stage, activity area, VVIP zone, ticketing centre, food stalls and many more. DNA team people picked randomly from amongst the students and assigned them different duties around 12:00 PM. Some were sent to manage the electricity set up, some for masking and some to manage the food court, the VVIP zone and Logistics. Students while volunteering got to learn some new technical terminologies like Masking, Mojo ,Knop etc. Those incharge of food court were busy setting up food stalls, others got to do ticketing at the cash counter and some were working on the stage.
The event ended around 10:30 PM and post which there was tallying done, cash was counted, venue cleaned and a very long day came to a closure. La Liga brought the big screen viewing of an El Classico match to India in a big way, and INLEADERs got the opportunity to be a part of it.
INLEAD recently facilitated an Industry Visit to the Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram in order to provide its Jan’16 Batch Healthcare Administration students a deeper understanding about the working of a hospital and its various departments.
The visit gave a practical exposure to students, especially to those who haven’t worked in a hospital earlier. They were shown around all the different facilities in the hosoital like OPD, IPD, Emergency, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, etc. The students also got an insight into the clock work activities that are performed to ensure smooth functioning of all facilities such that customers are not inconvenienced for even a small issue.
Post the campus tour, students were taken to the hospital auditorium where they had an interaction with the Medical Quality Head, HR Head and Talent and Development Head. Students got an insight into all these three major functions and were made aware about how opportunities are generated at Fortis. This will surely serve as a boon to students in the near future.
INLEAD recently facilitated an Industry Visit for the International Business Management students of Jul'16 batch to Ambience Mall, NH8, Gurugram, in order to provide them a greater understanding Organised Retail, Mall Management and Zoning of stores in a Mall.
The visit commenced around 3:30 pm, when the students where first asked to get a feel of the mall by just loitering around. Around 3:45 pm they were taken around the mall by the Mall Manager who started his tour from Gate No.1, also known as Zara atrium. He then took them for a guided tour across all floors, explaining to them in great detail the layout of the mall and the zoning of stores. They were made aware of the popularity of Mango store and therefore the naming of the frontage around the store as Mango atrium. Thereafter they were guided across different floors, and explained the unique aspect in each floor and the major anchor stores that help bring footfalls into the Mall.

As a part of an ongoing initiative for relevant industry exposure, INLEAD facilitated a Hotel Orientation tour to Taj Vivanta, Gurugram for its International Hotel Management students of Jul'16 batch. The visit provided the students with a very thorough property show round and introduced them to the practical rigours that are maintained at the backend.
Indian healthcare sector is estimated to reach $280 bn by 2020. However, unprecedented demand due to demographic changes and disease patterns calls for a complete re-engineering of India's healthcare. The FICCI HEAL conference aims to shift focus to re-engineering India’s Healthcare and also focus on innovation. The conference provides a platform for industry members to come together and deliberate on emerging trends and strategies. The ultimate goal is to move closer to provision of universal healthcare.
In order to keep our Healthcare Administration students abreast with the changing healthcare scenario of the country, INLEAD arranged for them to be a part of the FICCI HEAL conference 2016. The two day conference was extremely enlightening for students as they got to listen to a large number of business heads in the Healthcare sector.
The conference commenced with an opening session by Ms. Shobha Mishra Ghosh (Sr. Director, FICCI) which was followed by other members of FICCI.
‘Triple Aim or a Triple Threat’ by Prof.Stephen D.Sisson talked about increased Patient Satisfaction and Outcome with decrease in cost of healthcare. This was followed by a talk on Organ Donation by Dr.(Col)Avnish K.Seth) which was a real eye-opener about the statistics of number of donors required in India.
Panel discussions were focused on important topics like re-engineering Indian Healthcare, Emerging Power of the Healthcare Consumer, Human Resources in Healthcare – Challenges and Solutions, Emerging Financing Models in Indian Healthcare, Technologies driving new models in Healthcare , unlocking India’s potential as the Emerging Hub for Healthcare Start-ups and Role of Innovations in Healthcare.
Towards the end of the two-day conference, INLEADers came back with truckloads of knowledge and a refreshed enthusiasm to do something concrete and meaningful in their field.
